Ingredients + Measurements
- 2 cups yogurt
- Cumin powder
- Green mint chutney
- 1/3 cup green gram (soaked in water for 2 hours separately and ground)
- 1/3 cup black gram (soaked in water for 2 hours separately and grinded
- Red chili powder
- 10-12 pieces chopped cashew nuts
- 2 tbsp charoli
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1-2 tsp of pomegranate
Method Of Preparation
- 1. Take a large bowl, add both the grams or just moong dal ( as per the availability )and salt and eno food salt, and mix well. The consistency should not be too thick.
- 2. Dahi vada can be made in two ways, either in the microwave or using idli mould and steam.
- 3. Take the mould, at the bottom of the dish put 1 cup of water.
- 4. Now add eno food salt in it and then mix it. As the batter becomes fluffy, add batter to the idli stand or mould.
- 5. Add 6-7 small pieces of cashew nuts and charoli, 3-4 seeds of black pepper, 3-4 pieces of chopped ginger, and 2 pieces of raisins.
- 6. Do the same with another mould.
- 7. Put the idli maker in the microwave oven and set the highest degree for 3-4 mins. Vada’s are now prepared.
- 8. Take 3-4 cups of lukewarm water to put Dahi vada in them. Add 1 tsp salt and 1 pinch asafetida and mix it. Then dip vada in it.
AFTER 15 MINUTES.
- 1. Press them gently to take out the excess water in them.
- 2. Now let’s serve it.
- 3. Put the Dahi vada on a plate, and top with 3-4 tbsp of yoghourt.
- 4. Finish it by putting in some green mint chutney, a pinch of black rock salt, cumin powder, and red chili powder.
